Child Safety
In order to protect the children of Hope Kids during the birth through preschool program, we at Hope provide the following safety and security measures.
Check-in Check-out Procedures
When children are brought to our Hope Kids classrooms, parents must complete a child information form. This provides us with contact information for parents/caregivers, notices of allergies, and space for families to share any special needs their child may have.
Each Sunday parents/caregivers are provided with a ticket that matches one attached to their child's name tag. The ticket must be returned at the end of service in order to pick up their child. This helps ensure security and safety for all kids in our program.
Child Protection Policy
Hope Church has a comprehensive Child Protection Policy. All of the servers who work with children in Hope Kids have gone through a rigorous approval process. This includes a background check, application with references and personal interview. These servers follow our Child Protection Policy as they supervise children in any and all Hope Kids events. If you are interested in more information about our Child Protection Policy, please contact Erin Clark ErinClark@hopechurchcl.org.
Safe and Clean Facilities
We maintain age-appropriate classrooms that keep safety in mind at all times. Classrooms and toys are cleaned after every use. We also ask that families assist us in our mission to provide safe environments by not bringing children to Hope Kids who are ill and contagious. If you're too sick for school, then you're too sick for Hope Kids. Just make sure to come back next week once you're feeling better!
Bathroom Practices
Hope Kids servers do not change diapers. If your child needs a diaper change, or any type of assistance during the service, we will text you at the phone number you provide at check-in. When you receive a text, please proceed to the nursery to assist your child. We have a changing table and a nursing room attached to the Hope Kids birth through preschool room.
Potty training children should visit the restroom immediately before Hope Kids begins on Sunday. If a child needs to use the bathroom during service, the parents/caregivers will be contacted via text message at the number provided during check-in. Our Hope Kids servers do not take children to the bathroom, as part of our safety policy.
